In November, 1970, a man named Tom Dempsey kicked the longest field goal of the NFL history with half a foot and secured an unlikely victory for his team; the New Orleans Saints. It was one of the best and most surprising moments of a football match. The history, however, is full of such interesting facts and shocking statistics that keep generations glued to the fun of American Football.<\/p>\n

As we all know that the National Football League is one of the best and most professional sports leagues in North America, we all expect a super exciting tournament during the regular 17-week season that runs between Labor Day and the New Year. Each team gets to play sixteen games along with a bye week. After the regular season, six teams are left from each conference (i.e., the National Football Conference and the American Football Conference) for the single-elimination tournament, leading up to the Super Bowl. Super Bowl, itself, is the championship game of the National Football League. It was played on January 15, 1967, for the first time.<\/p>\n

The NFL season 2015, started on September 4, 2014. Defending champions Seattle Seahawks hosted the Green Bay Packers and defeated them by 36 \u2013 16. The season ended on December 28, 2014, and the playoff games commenced from January 3, 2015. The final showdown of Super Bowl XLIX is scheduled for the February 1, 2015.<\/p>\n
